Marvel Calendar 1975 or 2005

As is my wont, I love when things coincide, especially when they involve superheroes!

In the past, I’ve noted that Mark Anderson, over at Andertoons, has posted a number of pieces of superhero art from the 70s, especially his calendars which, being cyclical in nature, keep coming round again.

I mention this because my friend, the amazing poet Gregory Crosby, recently posted yet another Marvel calendar – the 1975 edition – which corresponds to this year, 2025! This time it’s from the geek blog ‘TAIN’T THE MEAT… IT’S THE HUMANITY!

So, enjoy! And if you want your own copy, you can order a facsimile from or Amazon or here’s a PDF you can print at home.

Mark Anderson, who is a great cartoonist and prime level geek, realizing the cyclical nature of calendars decided to scan his old superhero yearly markers for everyone to enjoy. This year, it’s the 1978 Amazing Spider-Man edition he’s gracing us with. In the past, it’s been the 20th anniversary of Marvel and DC Super Powers (and then there were the amazing superhero Valentine’s day cards). Anyway… enjoy. And when you get a chance, thank Mr. Anderson for what he’s doing!

This is incredibly cool! Due to the cyclical nature of, you know, the laws of the physical universe, there are only a handful of different variations on the annual calendar. It so happens that this year, 2015, matches up perfectly with 1981. 1981 when Marvel comics put out an absolutely brilliant calendar featuring all their heavy hitters.

Artist Mark Anderson decided to scan the pages for his own calendar this year. Then he generously made the scans available to others (Thank you!!). Anyone want to go in on a piece for your own wall?
