The Assets

So, a few months back I told you about filming this project here in Lithuania. Well now details can be revealed – and a I can let a little bit of my geek flag fly.

As you can see from the picture to the left and the title of this post, the title of the project is The Assets, an 8 part “limited series” airing on ABC starting… well it started last night at 10pm (that’s 22:00 for my European friends)! This is a surprise as I thought it wasn’t airing until summer and they just finished filming a few weeks ago.

Anyway, the show is a cold war spy thriller based on true events surrounding Russian mole Aldritch Ames and the two CIA agents who found him out. The show is based on the book Circle of Treason by Sandra Grimes and Jeanne Vertefeuille and looks pretty good! Here’s a Good Morning America story about it:

The episode where I share screen time with (if there’s any justice in the world) the soon to be famous  Jonjo O’Neill is episode 3 and should be airing January 16th or so (ironically this is when I’ll be in America). My episode doesn’t have a title yet, or an official air date, but we can make assumptions, right? I know it’s real, too, because my IMDb page has been updated!

But now, here’s where my geek flag gets unfurled… Thanks to this little piece of work, my Kevin Bacon degree of separation index for people like David Tennant and Benedict Cumberbatch is now a grand whopping total of one! This is because in my episode is Noel Clarke, who was in both Doctor Who and Star Trek Into Darkness.

So now, you all need to watch the show, write in about how great I was and this way, whenever they’re filming something in Lithuania which requires a native English speaker not afraid to wear a mustache, I’ll be on the list to call!
