Snicket Blake, to whom I am somehow related, has directed a new film. Her last one, was pretty good, too.
Gene Wilder passed away yesterday. He was a comic genius who will forever be remembered for films like Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein and Willy Wonka. But even in smaller, less known films, he shined.
A student once asked me to find a zombie film where the zombies had a character arc. Here ya go.
There’s nothing like a good theatre experience. And if you can’t make it out to see something live, then a film is the next best thing.
And if you can watch a movie about the theatre? Heaven!

Since it’s release stateside I’ve been hearing good and bad about The Theory of Everything, the biopic about cosmologist Stephen Hawking. The conversations about the film increased when the Academy Award nominations were announced and the film took several spots, including a nod for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Music and two for the lead actors, Felicity Jones for portraying Hawking’s put upon wife, Jane, and Eddie Redmayne for playing Hawking himself. The Worst Things Written About Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
I think this is a little bit disingenuous. Yes, it’s a funny article but I’m trying to figure out the point of it. Almost all of the reviewers here are name critics working for big time publications. You can’t tell me ANY of them went into this movie thinking they were going to get Death of a (car) Salesman.
