I have arrived safely in Berlin. There were many adventures along the way. They will be described, along with pictures, shortly. For now, know I am safe in the Berlin train station with directions to my Hostel.

Stuck outside of Malmo with the Copenhagen blues again…
Well… It seems you can’t buy a bus ticket where the bus picks you up. Of course, by the time I discovered this, the agents office was closed. So I’m stuck in Copenhagen for the night and will be taking a train out at 7:45 in the morning. I’m in a hostel so it’s all good (although I was thinking about just sleeping at the train station but decided against it this early in the adventure.
This doesn’t change anything, still in Berlin tomorrow. Did have a wonderful day so far in Copenhagen and will write more about that soon.
On the move…
Okay, not yet, exactly, but there is a plan. I have booked for three nights in a hostel in Berlin starting Saturday. I’m going to take the bus down from Copenhagen Friday night.
A couple if interesting things I’ve noticed here. One, I have yet to have meatballs. You’d think traditional Swedish fare would somewhere include meatballs, but no. Continue reading “On the move…”
Walking tours and Big Cards…
Yesterday, I decided to walk around Malmo a little bit. I ended up down by the river, where I took pictures of some artwork
and the peddle boats. There was also this mini water jet fountain, like the Bellagio only smaller, which you could control from the river bank. I had a good time making the waters dance! Continue reading “Walking tours and Big Cards…”
Sunday…
It was a lazy Sunday… essentially, I haven’t been sleeping well – I go to bed late, waking up every couple hours and then sleeping later than I would like. So today seemed to be a day of catch up. Malin had stuff to do so I ended up hanging out trying to read. Continue reading “Sunday…”
Pictures…
This is me and the Optomistoic Orchestra, a piece of public art in the streets of Malmo.
My Host, Malin. This morning we worked on designing a magic trick involving an appearing goldfish. Then there’s me, on the highest ferris wheel in Scandinavia. Continue reading “Pictures…”
Day one… in brief
So… My plane took off on time at 11:30am and thankfully I was on board. Not that there was any danger, really, but nonetheless, I was safely ensconced in my seat as we left Vegas for the wilds of Minnesota (not the Wild of Minnesota, which would have also been cool). Minneapolis, from the air, is beautiful! It’s green and lush and full of interesting architecture Continue reading “Day one… in brief”
Touchdown…
I have arrived safely in Malmo Sweden. There will be a complete update later tonight.
And awaaaaaay I go!
I’m at the airport, about an hour to go until wheels up. see you on the other side of the world!
Cell Phone Blues…
Well… Sprint sucks. In order to forward my phone it would cost me .20¢ a minute and I just ain’t gonna pay. Therefore, if you want to get hold of me for the next three months, please call 702 HALF ASS (702-425-3277).
If I don’t respond, I promise I’ll call you back as soon as I can (but remember, there is a time difference.
By the way, I leave for the airport in 6 hours.
The weary traveler…
So here I am, with my backpack on and my two traveling companions, Strike and Katrina. Strike is an armadillo from Texas and Katrina is a crocheted squid. Continue reading “The weary traveler…”
Packing…
Last night I took everything I’ve purchased, assembled and gathered into the backpack and wore the blasted thing around for an hour or so. Not too bad! I think I’ve got everything I need and the moment of truth is fast approaching
Hopefully the next post will have a picture test.
New Number?
Well…
So I’m on Skype (skidspoppe for those interested) and since I’m gonna be teaching a class while I’m over there in Europe I figured I should have a number where my students can get hold of me (and friends, too) so I got a Skype number so you can all call me and leave messages or talk to me if I happen to be on the computer. Continue reading “New Number?”
Getting closer…
Okay, so i went and visited my friend Ronn yesterday and he said I had done well with my purchases. My backpack is great and the various items I have are all appropriate. He did give me a few items I was shy on and a bit of advice so I feel much better. Of course, I still need to get an adapter/converter. Continue reading “Getting closer…”
Two Weeks and counting…
Two weeks from Thursday the adventure begins. Of course, it begins a little earlier than I’d like since I have to stop at the clinic on my way to the airport to get the second of my three hepatitis B&C vaccinations.
As it stands now, I think I have everything I’ll need (except a power adapter/converter) but I’m meeting with a friend who does a lot of backpacking who said he’d lend me anything I was shy on. Continue reading “Two Weeks and counting…”
